I enjoy listening to folk in the game and their views and I can sit on both sides of the fence and see good reason from all angles or should I say all points of view on the different types of staffords and can understand for the new folk coming onto the show scene how easy it is to be brain washed but as they say "You are what you are influenced by"so with that in mind and watching half heartily last night some programme on the Nearly Famous I was very attentive to the kid who appeared 100% focused on his radio control Formula 1 car, he was being spoken to by the presenter and he never took his eye off his car in the race and would you know it he won and he must of been about 7 years old and who should it turn out to be but our very own British Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton in a word I was gob smacked and I got to thinking...
When our boy was young we swapped and changed schools a fair bit with the job moves meant moving house as well, we had paid for a private tutor to help him grasp reading and writing as he was really struggling this moved him on in leaps and bounds and then at one junior school which is ranked quite high and had a very good head master who approached everything with sheer enthusiasm therefore his staff were the same as I guess he was only ever going to hire teachers that had a buzz for their job but we were on the move again so I went for a chat, now what he said bared no malice and meant very little but he said "he's a very likable lad and will always have lots of friends but he lacks concentration and so he gets left behind but he is a real tryer so he will do ok but he will never be academic" didn't mean a lot at the time but heres the thing and I prey my Mother never gets a PC and reads this LOL but when I used to arrive home with my rosette or trophy from my club show with the pony she would never be in awe or anything she would just ask me to put it in my room very lacking on the emotional front so what do you well for me it was set the standard against what I had experienced as a child therefore our son was a bloody genius as far as we were concerned and we told him so and we made a big deal of his achievements and supported his ideas and guess what he is academic he has achieved 3 distinctions A levels in Art he never studied really for his other exams so came out with C's but 2 points off a B and it just goes to prove "You are what you are influenced by"
OK know I have strayed but back to the dog chat and a very interesting conversation with someone I have respect for and this is what I questioned another friend who was also in the conversation and as I know the breeding of both of these folk I can see where they are coming from.
I have to question are we talking of a longer upper arm or less depth of brisket nothing wrong with Nell's upper arm but her brisket is a shade past her elbow, so if we lengthen the upper arm we then have to slope the shoulder at a more degree which the dog then has to rely on more muscle to support its self if you follow where I am coming from and this would mean a longer fore arm to match so again coming away from the standard idea so in effect though upper arms and good length of leg is never mentioned in the standard are we talking about a taller dog or are we talking about a dog with a shallow brisket, interesting isn't it the different concept of what suits and your nearly convinced by the logic of a better upper arm but which is it as it seems the appearance of an upper arm and more day light underneath is what appeals....Still giving this one some thought.
All that for a bit of doggy talk hope no one is disappointed LOL
